The Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari was recognized through an demand propagated by the Governor of Haryana on Sept. 07, 2013. It continuing its working from Sept. 13, 2013 with choice of Sh. Mohinder Kumar IAS (Retd.) as first Vice-Chancellor by the Governor of Haryana.The university site is situated in village Meerpur at a standby of about 13 Km from area headquarter of Rewari in Southern Haryana. It is feast over about 100 lands of land in posh green area. Before coming in to being as an independent State University it was the Post Progress Area Centre of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and was standard on 03.10.1988.
At current Indira Gandhi University Meerpur Rewari innings 10 Post Graduate ways in 08 teaching divisions. Apart from this, five sections are running M.Phil program and one Pre-Ph.D. program. The university is training to introduction various other ways in near future.
